Shattered Worlds Reforged
A shattered world, rebuilt from the system up.
Reforged brings the post-apocalyptic science-fantasy of Shattered Worlds to Basic Roleplaying, then builds on that foundation with the Siegebreaker BRP engine: new character options, magic, equipment, combat, survival, and campaign tools created for this setting.
Basic Roleplaying + Siegebreaker
More than a conversion.
Basic Roleplaying gives Reforged a proven percentile foundation: understandable skills, flexible characters, dangerous combat, and rules that can carry many genres. The Siegebreaker BRP engine expands that foundation for professional teams operating in a modern post-Fall world where firearms, lost technology, magic, monsters, and scarce resources all matter.
The goal is not to replace what BRP does well. It is to add the systems Shattered Worlds needs—and make them work together as one game.
Great games begin with great foundations.
Siegebreaker builds on two fantastic game systems: Basic Roleplaying and D&D. We choose the foundation that fits each world, respect what already works, and add the rules, tools, and adventures that make the setting distinctly ours.
Expanded for Reforged
What the Player Guide adds to BRP.
Species with a place in the world
Play humans, dwarves, elves, half-orcs and orcs, tieflings, and half-elves—each rebuilt as a meaningful BRP character choice shaped by life after the Fractures.
Professions for dangerous work
Build a practical role within the team: Gleeman, Modern Soldier, Pathfinder, Specialist, Survivor, Technician, Traveling Doctor, Warden, Wasteland Marshal, or Warlock.
Advantages and disadvantages
Special training, personal strengths, complications, and lasting weaknesses make characters more capable, more individual, and more connected to the stories they create.
A complete magic framework
Spells use Soul Points and scalable Tiers of Power. Warlocks bargain with Otherworldly Patrons, gain Pact Boons, earn Patron Favor, and choose Eldritch Invocations—while Magic Disruption makes sorcery and modern technology dangerous neighbors.
Equipment that supports play
Item rarity, quality, and properties sit alongside personal and medical gear, night vision, scopes, drones, tools, special ammunition, firearms, grenades, launchers, flamethrowers, heavy weapons, experimental equipment, and armor.
Combat built for the setting
Tactical and strategic combat, initiative-ranked actions, weapon properties, special attacks, wounds, healing, fatigue, and encumbrance make preparation and teamwork as important as firepower.
Pressure beyond hit points
Mental Fatigue Points, Mental Toughness Rolls, sanity, and psychological consequences track what repeated violence, fear, supernatural encounters, and impossible choices do to a person.
A world that can kill you
Environmental hazards, poisons, disease, and radiation make the landscape itself part of the challenge. Food, ammunition, medicine, fuel, tools, and shelter remain meaningful resources.
Campaigns that play like seasons
Individual missions grow into story arcs; story arcs build toward season crises. Supporting characters, lasting wounds, consequences, and returning threats give episodic play continuity and weight.
Designed as a line
Player Guide. Game Master Guide. Launch adventure.
Reforged is being developed as a complete supported game, not a single isolated rulebook. The planned launch line gives players the tools to build professional teams, gives Game Masters the world and campaign systems behind the Fall, and provides an adventure that puts the engine to work immediately.
A Kickstarter campaign will follow once the core books are substantially complete and ready for production.
Made by people
Human-created artwork
The Shattered Worlds Reforged Player Guide uses commissioned and licensed artwork made by human artists. No generative AI artwork is used in the Player Guide.
That artwork is part of the identity of the setting and the work of its credited artists is treated as part of the book—not decoration added after the fact.
The Siegebreaker approach
Build on what works. Add what the world needs.
Gateways into Madness and Shattered Worlds Reforged share a design philosophy: begin with a strong, proven game engine, then create the mechanics required to deliver the setting’s particular experience. Future Siegebreaker games will follow the same principle, whether their best foundation is BRP or D&D.
